For years, the thinking that helps professional services firms win competitive work has stayed locked inside the bid room.
Client conversations with key stakeholders. Debrief notes that never quite make it outside the room. The quiet observations that only come from reading hundreds of submissions and sitting on both sides of the evaluation table. We've decided it's time to open the doors and share what we've learned, so you can win the work that matters to you.
Why now?
The RBTL team has been advising on tenders and pitches for over 20 years. In that time, we've noticed something consistent: the firms that win aren't always the ones with the best offering. They're the ones who understand how to communicate their value as a client benefit, clearly, compellingly, and in a way that speaks directly to what the evaluators actually needs to hear.
That insight doesn't belong locked away. It belongs in the hands of the people doing the work.
What to expect in our Blog
We'll keep adding posts as we go. Some will be client stories (anonymised, of course). Some will be about methodology, the frameworks and thinking we use to help firms structure their bids, sharpen their stories, and get ready for presentations.
Join us as we unpack it.
This week we will be sharing insights on the impacts of AI in the bid space. Stay tuned!
What you'll find on the News & Updates page
Our News & Updates page is where we share what we're seeing, thinking, and working on. It's not a newsletter. It's not a content calendar. It's a genuine window into the bid room, updated when we have something worth saying. A couple of examples are below.
Auckland Energy — client work
There is a lot you can pack into three days. Pre-positioning for an upcoming opportunity. Taking time to have 2-3 insight rigorous conversations about moving from where you are to where you want to be. Having one on one time with team members to discuss current requirements around debriefs and review methodologies.
Storyboarding for new ideas
Shortly we will share feedback on our new behind-the-scenes session and how the learnings provided will add impact to their submissions moving forward. Our aim is for you to see how these learnings could help you.
